Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. The successful candidate will work on a wide range of building projects across commercial healthcare educational and public sector developments contributing to the design and delivery of high-quality sustainable mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical building services systems including HVAC hot and cold water and drainage systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and integrated design solutions.
  • Prepare drawings specifications reports and technical schedules in line with industry standards.
  • Assist in project delivery from concept to construction including attending client and site meetings.
  • Carry out site inspections and support the commissioning process.
  • Ensure compliance with local building regulations codes of practice and sustainability goals.

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 3-6 years experience in the mechanical design of building services.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical services design tools and software such as AutoCAD Revit or Hevacomp.
  • Strong understanding of current building regulations and sustainable design principles.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Interest in progressing toward Chartership (e.g. with Engineers Ireland or CIBSE).

Desirable

  • Experience working on healthcare educational or public infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with digital design workflows and BIM processes.
