The project and your role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive technical professional with strong expertise in SQL database administration and IIS web server management. You will maintain and optimize our database and web application systems playing a critical role in ensuring the performance security and availability of our clients IT infrastructure within the IT Services and IT Consulting sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer monitor and maintain SQL databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server MySQL).
- Configure maintain and troubleshoot IIS web servers and web applications.
- Design and implement database schemas stored procedures functions and triggers.
- Diagnose and resolve web application performance issues and errors.
- Perform regular database tuning optimization and performance monitoring.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery plans; ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- Plan and execute database conversions and migrations.
- Apply go-live updates and changes to production databases and web applications.
- Implement and maintain web server security best practices.
- Collaborate with development product and infrastructure teams to support application data needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database and web application-related issues.
Your skills
- Proven experience as a DBA with a strong emphasis on SQL.
- Must-have expertise in MS SQL Server MySQL and AWS RDS.
- Experience with IIS web server configuration and management.
- Expertise in writing complex SQL queries and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of web application troubleshooting methodologies.
- Experience with database conversion projects and production go-live support.
- Familiarity with backup strategies replication and disaster recovery planning.
- Understanding indexing partitioning and query optimization.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
