The Processing Guidance and Controls (PG&C) Center within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Directorate consists of Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) Signal Processing (SP) and Modeling and Simulation disciplines for Effectors.

The PG&C Center is currently hiring for a Sr. Systems Engineer -
Guidance Navigation and Control Engineer in Tucson AZ.

The
Sr. Systems Engineer - Guidance Navigation and Control Engineer will play a critical role helping with the evaluation design implementation and integration of embedded software algorithms changes to improve one or more of our shipboard missile systems performance capabilities address obsolescence challenges or add new capabilities.

As the Sr. Systems Engineer - Guidance Navigation and Control Engineer you will collaborate with a team of engineers in an integrated product team that will be responsible for tactical embedded software firmware and integrated flight software 6 Degrees-of-Freedom simulations.

What You Will Do

  • Development of embedded tactical missile flight code via System Modeling Simulation and Analysis
  • Identification design and execution of studies to evaluate brand new system capabilities that will be used to inform design refinements and development
  • Definition and execution of system level performance studies to ensure integrating new capabilities do not harm existing system level performance
  • Work within an agile framework to lead development of backlogs plans and metrics
  • Provide experience and guidance to help the program train new engineers and execute efficiently and effectively
  • Support missile performance analysis including model development system optimization and Monte Carlo assessments with expected system disturbances.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of years of prior relevant experience
  • Engineering experience in missile system applications to include but not limited to the following:
    • Experience with simulation-based system level performance evaluation
    • Experience with MATLAB C C. And/or Object-Oriented design
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain special program access after start.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • 3 or more years of experience with simulation-based system level performance evaluation
  • 3 or more years of experience with MATLAB C C. And/or Object-Oriented design
  • Experience developing software in a Unix or Linux environment
  • Experience supporting activities related to flight tests such as pre-flight performance assessments quick look report generation and through post-flight analysis of GNC algorithms and system level performance.
  • Results-oriented work ethic and able to communicate effectively with senior leadership and other engineering disciplines.
  • Familiarity with ship system interfaces and integration including the modeling and simulation of this data.
