Job Description

Tools & Equipment Used: Various types of heat treat furnaces high frequency welding and induction heating machines hoists quenching vats and presses refrigerators cyanide pots.

Experience & Other Requirements: Three to five years of heat treat or related experience.

Position Requirements: Heat Treat a variety of steel or parts and tools where considerable ingenuity is required to prevent warping calibrate instruments pack carburized parts correctly. Select timing for depth of case. Give special attention to electric furnaces to insure correct heating and treatment timing. Select proper quenching medium (This is determined by the Metallurgical Lab or Supervision). Operate hardness testing equipment. May occasionally operate cyanide pot. May be specialized in either steel or heat treat. Set-up and operate a Gleason Quenching Press Lepel or other high frequency welding or induction heating machines. Start and operate Neutralene Generator utilize a nitrogen / methanol system) and check for proper operating condition.
