Summary


Are you an experienced landscape professional ready to lead a dedicated team in maintaining and improving the City of Medfords beautiful parks and open spaces As a Parks Maintenance Supervisor youll play a key role in planning and coordinating the care of our recreational areasmanaging everything from daily maintenance operations to long-term improvement projects. This is your opportunity to combine hands-on work with leadership making a visible impact in the community while guiding and supporting a skilled team.


The ideal candidate will bring strong supervisory experience a solid background in landscaping and irrigation systems and a proactive approach to problem-solving and team development. Required Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible landscape maintenance experience with one (1) of those years in a supervisory or leadership position
  • Bachelors degree in horticulture plant science forestry arboriculture or agriculture or other specific area of study as deemed applicable may substitute for two (2) years of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in GIS mapping software
  • Possession of the Oregon Public Pesticide License.
  • Certified Playground Safety Inspector.
  • Certified Park and Recreation Professional.

Available Schedule:

  • 8 hours daily Monday - Friday

**Scheduled salary increases and a 2.5% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) will be effective July 1 2025**

The anticipated hiring range for the Parks Maintenance Supervisorposition is $37.54(first step) to $39.41or $41.38(second or third step).The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education experience andqualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay are included in this salary range allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.

  • May be assigned to administer Park-wide centrally controlled irrigation system.
  • Manages personnel for the Citys Tree & Right-of-way program to include the Prescott Park fire fuel management program and Tree City USA program.
  • Oversees synthetic turf maintenance and repairs checks infill depth grooms and repairs turf as needed.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Work is conducted both in the office and in the field involving exposure to diverse weather conditions uneven terrain and potentially hazardous work sites. This may include exposure to moving mechanical parts electrical currents vibrations fumes odors dust poor ventilation and chemicals. Environment includes interaction with the public and potential exposure to disruptive people.
