ASSISTANT BUYER ASSET INTELLIGENCE
WARRINGTON
What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Buyer to join the team at Galliford Try within our Asset Intelligence Business.
Ideally you will based in or around the Warrington area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
Support the end-to-end procurement process from requisition through to purchase order using Oracle Procurement Cloud.
Assist Buyers and the Procurement Manager in sourcing materials plant and subcontractor services for construction projects.
Liaise with site teams and project managers to understand procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Monitor supplier performance lead times and delivery schedules and escalate any supply chain risks.
Maintain accurate procurement records including order tracking invoice matching and delivery confirmations.
Conduct price comparisons obtain quotes and prepare cost analyses to support value-for-money decisions.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with approved suppliers and subcontractors.
Assist in preparing procurement reports supplier audits and compliance reviews as required.
Ensure procurement activity complies with internal policies contract requirements and legal regulations.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
About You:
Prior experience in a procurement purchasing or commercial support role ideally within the construction or civil engineering sector.
Working knowledge of Oracle procurement systems or other ERP-based procurement platforms.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple procurement tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Competency in Microsoft Office especially Excel.
Understanding of construction materials plant hire and subcontractor procurement is advantageous however not essential
Familiarity with NEC or JCT contract environment is desirable for this role however not essential
