To be successful as our new IPAC - Assistant Director of Nursing Care ADNC RPN you will:
- Have a current registration as a Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Maintain current Heart Save Level of CPR.
- Have current certification with either a Long-term Care Certificate in Infection Prevention (LTC-CIP) or Certificate in Infection Control (CIC) through Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) or willing to obtain in 12 months.
- Act as a Specialist Leader pertaining to all aspects of infection prevention and control including but not limited to outbreak management auditing infection surveillance continuous quality improvement etc.
- Support the delivery of IPAC education to all team members caregivers volunteers students visitors and residents.
- Understand the IPAC protocol and maintain up to date knowledge of the regulations specific to infection control.
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents families and team members.
- Understand the physical mental and emotional demands of the Assistant Director of Nursing Care role.
- Work with the interdisciplinary team to ensure implementation of the IPAC program across all program areas.
It would be an asset if our new IPAC - Assistant Director of Nursing Care ADNC RPN has:
- Knowledge of relevant policies procedures legislation and regulations applicable to the long-term care sector including the Fixing Long-Term Care Homes Act 2021 and Health & Safety.
- Three (3) years of experience leading and directing department(s) in a healthcare setting
- Education and Experience in IPAC practices including: infectious disease cleaning disinfecting data collection trend analysis outbreak management reporting protocol asepsis microbiology epidemiology program management & adult education or willing to complete an IPAC Canada endorsed or sponsored course.
- Experience working in a Long-Term Care setting.
