THE POSITION

As an Equipment Operator B your work involves operating trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 32001 pounds or moreto complete backhoe work excavating road repair snow removal lawn mowing equipment maintenance and manual work when not operating equipment. You will be responsible for performingroutine repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment such as lubrication oil changes and minor adjustments as well as cleaning and servicing equipment. In this role you will have the opportunity to assistmechanics in making major repairs to equipment and demonstratethe operation of assigned equipment to other employees. Additional responsibilities include maintaining equipment records and performingthe duties of an Equipment Operator Awhen needed for continuation of services in the department.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM rotating shift including some weekends
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A(Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration);or
- Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32001 pounds or more;or
- Any equivalent combination of experience or training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania drivers license.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a Class B commercial drivers license (CDL) with the air brake endorsement. Passenger endorsement required within 6 months of employment.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
