We are looking for experienced Heavy Equipment Service Technicians / Diesel Mechanics in Elma NY. The ideal candidate will have experience performing preventative maintenance minor and major repairs to heavy construction or aggregate equipment (primarily conveyors screens and crushers) including diagnosing troubleshooting and repairing mechanical electrical and hydraulic systems while analyzing and resolving problems independently and efficiently in a safe timely and professional manner.

Pay: $27 - $34 per hour depending on experience

Work Hours: Monday - Friday 1st Shift / Day Shift plus overtime as needed

Our new Service Technicians will work with our Service Manager to perform repairs and maintenance and will work with our Sales Department in the setup of rental and sold equipment. Essential duties include but are not limited to identifying problems and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps; removing disassembling assembling and installing components and parts; cleaning repairing reconditioning and maintaining our rental fleet and customer equipment and components; documenting and reporting work performed to service management; and performing related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• 3 years of prior experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment diesel agricultural farming automotive military motorcycle or aviation technologies. Experience with heavy equipment and/or aggregate equipment strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Diploma from a heavy equipment repair trade school a plus.
• Knowledge and experience with operating systems including hydraulics diesel engines and electronical systems with strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
• Prior experience building diesel engines and transmissions preferred
• Ability to work with laptop diagnostic tools and use other computer programs
• Ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics
• Ability to troubleshoot complex after treatment exhaust systems
• High attention to detail and accuracy. Dedicated to performing at your best while working with customers and the members of our team each day.
• Ability to communicate interact work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse backgrounds
• Self-motivated takes pride in workmanship and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
• Ability to promote and follow company policies and procedures
• Must have own full set of tools to perform work safely and effectively
• Stays current with trends in heavy equipment and related technologies
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record

Work Environment

• Role involves daily work in a shop environment and are expected to maintain safe work practices.
• Candidates hired into this role will be exposed to various hazardous materials outdoor weather conditions and will work near moving and rotating machinery daily.
• This position may require some travel

• Effectively apply established protocols in a timely manner
