Description
The Town of Needham is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the position ofEngineering Construction Inspector within the Engineering division of the Department of Public Works. This temporary part-time role will coordinate and implement the street permit issuance and inspection program with the team.
This position is temporary part-time not to exceed six months of service.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7 - 11 am
CON #25113Duties and Responsibilities
These duties are a general summary and not all inclusive:
- Coordinate and implement the street permit issuance and inspection program under the Towns Street Permit procedures pursuant to Town state and federal by-laws rules and regulations.
- Serve as Construction Inspector monitoring public works construction projects including water sewer drain and highway construction conducted by Public Works and private contractors to ensure proper installation appropriate materials compliance with health and safety regulations and compliance with appropriate engineering procedures and techniques.
- Provide updates as needed on the street permit issuance and inspection program and ongoing construction projects.
Requirements
- A valid Drivers License
- Four (4) years of High School plus elementary technical training acquired on the job or through one (1) year or less of technical or business school
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience
