Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) is centrally located in Ontario and includes the District Municipality of Muskoka the County of Haliburton and the City of Kawartha Lakes. TLDSB employs approximately 2000 staff members and supports 17000 students from JK to grade 12 in 40 elementary schools seven secondary schools six adult and alternate learning centres and via a virtual learning platform.

Reporting to the Director of Education the Executive Officer of Facilities Services Transportation Services and Capital Innovation will undertake:
- Responsibility for all aspects of both of the Facilities and Transportation Services departments including but not limited to:
- Accountability for departmental strategic goals
- Fiscal and operational management
- Management and supervision of staff
- Communication and collaboration with public stakeholders
- Responsibility for the management of capital innovation projects across TLDSB
Education: - Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Business Management or a related field
Experience: - Minimum of five years of relevant experience in a leadership position that includes all aspects of departmental management and accountability
- Facilities and Operations Management experience preferred
- Experience working in an public sector environment funded by the province of Ontario and governed by provincial legislation an asset
Primary Responsibilities include:
General:
- Support individuals and departments in achieving professional and system goals
- Manage multiple priorities and ensure alignment with the board vision and strategic plan
- Navigate questions or concerns from stakeholders including parents/guardians community partners contracted service providers and staff
- Understand implement and adhere to board policy and procedure and associated provincial legislation
For Facilities Services and Capital Innovation:
- Work with the Facilities Services Senior Manager to coordinate and manage facility operations maintenance by working with custodial staff technicians vendors and contractors
- Prepare and manage capital projects capital renewal and operating budgets
- Understand and apply provincial funding formulas related to the provision of capital and other facilities-related services
- Adhere to provincial legislation and board policy and procedure related to facilities maintenance and services in the public education sector in Ontario
- All Ministry of Education reporting as required in relation to facilities VFA- Facilities Condition Assessment Services and capital projects
- Manage the processes involved in the Boards Long Term Accommodation Plan (LTAP) boundary reviews Accommodation Review processes and annual enrolment projections
- Management of land sales and disposition property inventory and working with planning departments and local politicians in local townships and municipalities
- Lead capital innovation across the Board
- Consideration of and commitment to environmental stewardship in all projects
- Technical knowledge of mechanical electrical plumbing and building systems; experience with HVAC and other systems an asset
- Oversee Community Use of Schools including fostering community partnership use and management of contracts and agreements for long-term use
- Working with the Ontario School Boards Insurance Exchange (OSBIE) in relation to facility-related matters
For Transportation Services:
- Work with the Transportation Supervisor to coordinate and manage Transportation Services in all areas of TLDSB
- Prepare and manage the transportation operating budget
- Understand and apply provincial funding formulas related to the provision of transportation services (e.g. fuel calculations and disbursement RFP contracts payment approvals)
- Adhere to provincial legislation related to transportation services in the public education sector and to TLDSB policy and procedure including the Transportation Policy and Procedure; leading the review and update process regarding the Transportation Policy and Procedure
- Oversight of Ministry of Education reporting timelines and submissions related to board transportation services
- Leadership of and support for staff in developing efficient routing maintenance of ride times considerations of hazards and students safety stop and walk-distance efficiencies and other best practices for safe and efficient bussing for students eligible for transportation services
- Negotiations and management of the renewal of contracts with third party transportation providers; managing contract changes as required (e.g. funding for fuel calculations); support for the Transportation Supervisor in relation to any questions or challenges in working with contracted service providers
- Working with the Transportation Supervisor in relation to questions and concerns from parents/guardians (e.g. medial or special needs approvals problem solving etc)
- Consultant and advise transportation operators and board staff in relation to inclement weather days driver shortages school closures incidents or other potential challenges related to the daily operation of busses
- Liaise with Senior Administration related to school-based concerns or changes (e.g.. bell times etc)
- Participate in opportunities for related professional development (e.g. OASBO COSBO)
Board Responsibilities:
