The Department
The Bariatric Surgery Registry is an established bi-national clinical quality registry that monitors the safety and efficacy of bariatric surgery across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. Since beginning in 2012 the Registry has enrolled over 165000 people who have had a bariatric procedure and has 213 surgeons and 150 hospitals contributing data. The Registrys team is based in Monash Universitys School of Translational Medicine (STM) at the Alfred Hospital campus.

Working under the broad direction of the BSR Executive Officer and BSR Operations Manager the position is responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of BSR governance requirements including human research ethic committee (HREC) applications amendments and reporting and for ensuring compliance with all relevant policies procedures and legislation. This position is a key role within the BSR as ethics approval is required for every aspect of the BSRs mission.
