ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
LIVIC Civil is looking to fill a full-time Senior Roadway Engineer position for our growing transportation department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working on PennDOT and municipal projects be a team player and be enthusiastic in working with other engineers project managers and other technical staff. In this position you will be assisting with planning designing and overseeing civil engineering projects such as design of new roadways intersections and interchanges road rehabilitation projects and projects associated with private land development.
Essential job functions include:- Perform geometric roadway design using MicroStation and prepare contract documents (PS&E) in accordance with state and local agency requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters working on the same project.
- Coordinate drainage design activities for roadway projects.
- Conduct field investigations and assessments of project sites.
- Prepare or oversee the development of plans cost estimates specifications and technical reports.
- Review documents and design work to ensure compliance with PennDOT plans and specifications.
- Potentially take on Deputy Project Manager or Project Manager responsibilities based on experience.
- Attend project meetings as needed.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Civil Engineering or 10 year of experience in similar role
- Professional Engineer License (Pennsylvania Preferred)
- Proficiency in Bentley Microstation
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Work and Excel.
- Excellent Verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be flexible well organized accountable and dependable.
- Familiarity of PennDot methods and procedures policies and standards
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 or more years of experience in roadway design.
