About the Facility Eating Recovery Center Evergreen (Juniper Unit)
Located in Denver CO the Juniper Unit at Eating Recovery Center Evergreen is a Child & Adolescent care facility serving approximately 50 guests daily. Our team supports patients with a variety of dietary needs including food allergies and special diets. Attention to detail and care in food preparation are essential. The cold/snack cook will work closely with the kitchen supervisor and a supportive culinary team in a structured patient-focused environment.

Wage range: $19.50-20.50
Schedule: Sunday & Monday AM Cold Cook 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM Wednesday & Thursday Snack Cook 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM Off Friday Saturday Tuesday.
Availability to pick up other shifts cover PTO for team members as needed would be ideal.
Responsibilities:
- Serves meals and/or snacks by reviewing assigned tally sheets snack lists recipes and portion guides; measuring assembling and combining ingredients; and maintaining a sanitary station in accordance with standard food safety procedures.
- Attends to the detail and presentation of prepared snacks or cold item according to diet restrictions allergies and prescribed meal plans.
- Prepares ingredients by following recipes; slicing cutting chopping mincing stirring whipping and mixing ingredients; verifying taste; and plating.
- Completes snacks/or cold menu items as assigned per day with the highest quality and presentation in mind.
- Adheres to proper food handling sanitation and safety procedures; maintains temperature and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) logs as required; and maintains appropriate dating labeling and rotation of all food items.
- Stores leftovers according to established standards.
- Clear understanding of weights and measures with the ability to compute recipe conversions if needed.
- Assists with receiving and storage of deliveries following FIFO procedure.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment food storage and work areas throughout the work day.
- Completes cleaning according to daily and weekly schedules and dishwashing/pot washing as needed.
- Completes daily check-out list and reviews with Supervisor before leaving for day.
- Can work well under pressure in a fast-paced high stress environment.
- Works as part of the team.
- Listens to client complaints and suggestions and resolves complaints professionally within scope of expertise.
- Implements suggestions within parameter of position and refers more complex concerns to supervisor.
- Participates in and contributes to kitchen huddles and in-services.
- Follows all hospital and departmental policies and procedures as directed.
- Follows directions of the Department Managers Supervisors and Leads.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Department Leaders.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum two (2) years of hospital institutional or restaurant cooking experience to include food preparation
- High school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and skill in ability to safely and effectively operate standard foodservice equipment.
