The City of Valdez Public Safety Department is accepting applications for a Public Safety Technician. This is a fully benefited hourly position working a non-standard schedule.
Under general supervision this position responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for police fire and emergency services; performs the duties of Correctional Officer and Dispatcher; complies with Police Department procedures to assure the safety of officers emergency services personnel and the public.
The Public Safety Technician is a sworn position and applicants are required to upload or email the completedF-3 Personal History Statement(email to) Application packages without an F-3 will not be considered.

Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED equivalent; and two (2) years of experience which involved a substantial amount of public contact and office clerical duties. Applicant must possess a State of Alaska Drivers license and have a clear criminal record. Must be able to pass Municipal Corrections Academy obtain Certifications for Taser OC Emergency Medical Dispatch CPR & First Aide APSIN/NCIC Access. Depending on the needs of the position additional licenses certifications and/or training may be required. May have to perform physical tasks in an outdoor environment.
