Job Description

SALARY: up to $15 per hour.

POSITION SUMMARY: Employee would be responsible to haul and distribute rafts helmets paddles and life jackets and help with line management during East Race rafting hours and private rentals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Employees are responsible for loading and unloading rafts and other equipment at the East Race
  • Employees are responsible for helping pull rafts from the end of the East Race and load them onto the trucks for delivery back to the head gates.
  • Employees are responsible for handing out rafts helmets paddles and life jackets to guests.
  • Employees are responsible for helping with line management and keeping guests away from trucks as they are unloading.
  • Employees may be responsible for assisting lifeguards.
  • Employees are responsible for inspecting the facility/equipment and reporting any unsafe conditions or damaged equipment to the Aquatic Manager or Supervisor on duty.
  • Employees are responsible for enforcing all park and aquatic policies rules and regulations.
  • Employees are responsible for attending and participating in all in-service training sessions.
  • Employees are responsible for completing incident reports and other records.

NON-ESSENTIAL/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Perform miscellaneous tasks as requested by the Aquatics and Ice Manager or East Race Supervisor

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with guests employees and others.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Be able to learn on the job

CERTIFICATES LICENSE REGISTRATION: First Aid/CPR/AED certification (can provide certification if needed)

EQUIPMENT: Trucks trailers non-slip shoes that will secure to the foot (no flip flops slides or Crocs)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit and walk and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and walk talk and hear. The employee is required to use hands to fingers handle or feel objects tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to climb balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to move or lift up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required in the job include vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The East Race Waterway has a moderate to loud noise level. Employees work primarily in an outdoor environment in all types of weather conditions. At times the heat and noise level can be extreme. Must be able to work well with the public.
