Director of Program Development

$1000 Sign on Bonus

(On-site)Aurora and Elgin locations.

The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people with physical developmental intellectual mental health challenges; those who have suffered a trauma; and those at risk to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose. We are looking for a Director of Community Day Serviceswho demonstrates this mission and wants to work for an organization that makes a difference in the community.

Schedule Hours:Monday through Friday daytime hours 40 hours 8-4:30

What you will be doing

  1. Provides direction and guidance for quality service and programming for persons served.
  2. Supervises CDS programs and locations and other areas as assigned.
  3. Responsible for the leadership & collaborations for programs and locations assigned.
  4. Assigned to internal and external committees representing the organization.
  5. Manage staff development client services financial management compliance requirements physical plant including assuring safety at all locations and being responsible for all reports and records required for each program and service area.
  6. Maintain and assure that all aspects of program and services comply with all applicable federal state and local entity requirements.
  7. Responsible for outcome evaluation quality assurance of services and maintains all accreditation standards.
  8. Responsible to meet the needs of all stakeholders including but not limited to clients parents/guardians staff funders and other interest groups. The location service area will be defined based on opening.
  9. This job position may have some work components that can be performed remotely. Remote work arrangements are not a right or entitlement of employment. They are discretionary and subject to demonstrated performance and operational needs. Approval may be rescinded at any time at the sole discretion of management.
  10. Ensure compliance with all agency state and federal policies.
  11. Ability to manage and motivate staff and volunteers including teaching job skills administrative supervision encouraging growth and development conducting performance appraisals and serving as a positive role model.
  12. Ability and willingness to serve as a team leader provide team support participate in group problem solving and work with other AID staff.
  13. Ensure quality of services and care are provided for each client and promote and advocate for client rights and choice.
  14. Ensure active treatment guidelines and program requirements are followed.
  15. Establish positive rapport with families community agencies and follow up and resolve any client issues.
  16. Review and update program quality and program procedures.
  17. Ensure program quality by evaluating on regular basis the program needs implementing new ideas/changes monitoring the progress of program goals.
  18. Train supervise and monitor Program Manager(s) and ensure job responsibilities are met.
  19. Monitor all program budgets to ensure compliance with financial and HR policies and procedures.
  20. Responsible for compliance with all program state federal CARF public health procedures re: billing quality of life safety inspections etc.
  21. Monitor and ensure compliance with all program and AID rules and procedures.
  22. Responsible for overseeing the repair maintenance safety inspections/corrections in all assigned programs.
  23. Responsible for all reports to be submitted timely and accurately.
  24. Ensure all staff and clients under supervision are trained in safety requirements and practices.
  25. Coordinate CDS site certifications as necessary.
  26. Plan coordinate and execute beneficial in-service days that maximize the time allotted.
  27. Coordinate and facilitate bi-monthly staff meetings.
  28. Ensure CIRAS reports are reported within the timeframe required.
  29. Ability and willingness to serve as a team leader provide team support participate in group problem solving and work with other AID staff.
  30. Consult with other Directors for input as required including proposed changes in programs and schedules prior to implementing changes.
  31. Ensure Home and Community Based Settings rules are implemented in CDS setting(s).
  32. May be asked to assist with program coverage in the absence of other Directors.

What will you bring to the table

Education:Bachelors Degree in Education or Human Services Field Degree preferred.

License/Certifications: DSP Certification;QIDP Certification

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of work experience with individual with developmental disabilities and behavioral health issues.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervising staff

Other Requirements

Physical:

  • Able to climb stairs
  • Able to walk stand push pull reach bend over and use a step stool
  • No medical restrictions which would prohibit implementation of a lift/transfer or implementation on behavior programs.
  • Must be able to physically assist clients with activities of daily living
  • Must be able to respond to emergency situations for client and staff as needed

Equipment:

  • Computer software including: Microsoft Word Outlook Excel PowerPoint and Teams; Zoom Internet Browser SharePoint Paycom Relias When to Work Slack CX360 etc.
  • Office Equipment: computer telephone voicemail printer/scanner copy machine calculator fax etc.
  • Alarm systems for monitoring fire weather security etc.
  • Adaptive equipment as defined in clients Personal Plans and Implementation Strategies
  • Agency vehicles with and without wheelchair lifts

Additional Requirements:

  • Must attend mandatory training and maintain certification in the following as defined. Training may include; First Aid CPR CPI QIDP DSP OIG HIPPA and other trainings as prescribed by regulatory agencies and the Association.
  • Must be able to use personal automobile to transport clients; have and maintain a valid Illinois drivers license; maintain minimum amount of automobile liability insurance as defined by the Associations personnel policies.
  • Must be willing to work and supervise different programs/settings
  • Must be able to drive a passenger vehicle to transport clients
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must complete agency required QIDP training within six months of hire
  • Must have access to a personal cell phone with ability to utilize downloaded applications as necessary
  • Maintain 12 CEUs annually
  • Attend after-hours programmatic functions as required
