Job Description

Job Summary

Residential Care Coordinator (RCC) is a live-off professional who provides primary support within University Housing for residents who are experiencing challenges related to substance abuse mental health and physical health. The Residential Care Coordinator also collaborates with campus partners to plan and facilitate residential programming related to prevention and education around substance use/abuse/cessation and mental and physical health issues.

Key Qualifications

1. Triage respond appropriately address and resolve crisis referrals from Residential Student Experience (RSE) and key partners such as the Campus Assessment Response & Education (CARE) team during normal University business hours.
2. Provide on-going non-clinical care management for residents who are experiencing challenges that negatively impact their overall well-being and ability to achieve academic success. Presenting factors may include substance use mental health transition to college and other concerns.
3. Collaborate with campus partners to plan and facilitate residential programming related to prevention and education around substance use interpersonal conflicts and mental and physical health education.
4. Collaborate with the Dean of Students- CARE TEAM to provide support and continuity for residents as they make a success plan and navigate resources including but not limited to meeting with and checking on students as concerns arise making appropriate referrals to campus and community services following up with staff as needed and reporting to supervisor and the RSE SOC group as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field including or supplemented by upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques interviewing and conflict resolution.
  • Three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience or in a related field.
  • A masters degree in Counseling Clinical Psychology Social Work or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling or guidance may be substituted for the three years of experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional career or personal counseling.

Salary and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range:$66528 - $77951 Per Year

Classification Range:$66480 - $94716 Per Year

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience skills knowledge abilities education licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. The Anticipated Hiring Range referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Classification Range may be broader than what the University anticipates paying for this position based on internal equity budget and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
