Gordian Planning Sales Manager State & Local

Gordian is seeking a results-oriented Sales Manager to lead and develop our Account Executive (AE) team focused on the State and Local Government vertical. This role is responsible for managing a high-performing team driving execution against aggressive growth goals and ensuring operational excellence across pipeline progression opportunity qualification (MEDDPICC) forecast accuracy and deal closure.

The Sales Manager will play a critical role in advancing team performance coaching to outcomes and aligning with cross-functional partners to drive strategic execution. This individual will report to senior sales leadership and act as a key voice in both tactical and strategic planning efforts.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of Account Executives (AEs) focused on selling Gordians capital planning and data-driven solutions into State and Local Government accounts.

Drive team performance to exceed bookings targets pipeline coverage and activity metrics.

Monitor and guide pipeline progression through MEDDPICC ensuring each rep maintains a healthy high-quality funnel with clear next steps.

Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts to senior leadership calling deals with confidence and clarity.

Conduct regular deal reviews 1:1 coaching sessions and pipeline health assessments to ensure AE accountability and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with Business Development Marketing and Operations teams to align outreach messaging and execution.

Support AEs in the field by participating in high-stakes meetings and closing strategic deals.

Reinforce sales methodologies and ensure consistent execution of Gordians sales process across the team.

Partner with senior leadership to identify and address performance gaps process enhancements and resource needs.

Champion a culture of accountability transparency and professional development.

Track and report on KPIs including conversion rates funnel velocity and sales cycle efficiency using Salesforce and other internal tools.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.

5 years of experience in B2B sales with 2 years managing quota-carrying sales teams preferably in the State and Local Government or Public Sector space.

Demonstrated success leading teams to exceed quota in a complex multi-stakeholder sales environment.

Mastery of MEDDPICC or similar opportunity qualification frameworks.

Strong forecasting discipline and ability to report results to executive leadership with precision.

Excellent coaching leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and drive change.

Experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced matrixed organization.

Strong analytical skills and proficiency with CRM tools especially Salesforce.

Willingness to travel up to 40%.
