Job Title:Senior Cost Accountant
Location:El Cajon CA
Employment Type:Full-Time Exempt
Reports To:Corporate Controller
About the Role
Our construction client is looking for ahands-on experienced Senior Cost Accountantto lead accounting and administrative functions for our construction operations. In this role youll ensure accuracy across project accounting lead a dedicated accounting team and work closely with leadership including the President Project Managers Estimators and Corporate Finance.

What Youll Do
- Supervise and support one project accountant
- Manage all aspects of project accounting: requisitions forecasting (CTC/WIP) over/under billings and project cash tracking
- Oversee subcontractor billing compliance and invoice processing
- Lead regional cash collection and forecasting
- Prepare monthly P&L forecasts finalize WIP and present financials to leadership
- Monitor SG&A expenses and align spending with budgets
- Track backlog identify CapEx needs and oversee warehouse/equipment/inventory accounting
- Act as liaison between Risk Management and project teams
- Ensure smooth communication between division and Corporate Accounting
What Were Looking For
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or Business
- 5 years ofconstructionaccounting experience
- Management experience preferred not required
- Proficiency in job cost accounting and WIP reporting
- Strong understanding of industry-specific financial procedures and compliance
Compensation/Perks:
- Salary: $110K-$120K per year 10% guaranteed annual bonus plus generous benefits including medical dental vision paid vacation and sick days 8 paid holidays plus 1 floating holiday 401K match and great work/life balance.
