Description
Position Purpose
Perform maintenance and repair work on machines mechanical equipment and facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Level I
- Repairs and maintains buildings and maintains grounds at Southern Oregon facilities.
- Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and machines.
- Fabricates and welds parts.
- Researches products used in equipment repair.
- Troubleshoots and repairs machines and equipment.
- Installs new equipment.
Level II
- Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Installs maintains and dismantles heavy machinery and equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance service on machines and equipment.
- Troubleshoots and repairs machines and equipment.
- Moves machinery and equipment using hoists dollies rollers and trucks.
- Maintains buildings and grounds at Southern Oregon facilities.
- Fabricates and welds parts.
- Installs new equipment.
- Requests quotes from vendors and coordinates with vendors for services.
- Develops cost analyses for plant maintenance program.
- Research products used in equipment repair.
- Mentors Plant Maintenance Technician I.
Minimum Qualifications
Level I
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Valid Drivers license.
- Minimum two (2) years experience performing equipment repair and maintenance.
- Proficiency in the use of a wide range of hand and power tools.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions. Good communication skills. Basic computer skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues.
- Ability to understand blueprints wiring schematics layout plans and other materials when assembling machinery.
- Ability to work overtime and occasionally on the weekends. May be required to be on call.
- Must have reading speaking writing and understanding skills in the English language.
Level II
- Minimum four (4) years experience performing industrial equipment repair and maintenance and computerized machining equipment repair.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Proficiency in the use of a wide range of hand and power tools.
- Analyze and understand blueprints wiring schematics layout plans and other materials when assembling machinery.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues.
- Good communication skills. Advanced computer skills.
- Ability to work overtime and occasionally on the weekends. May be required to be on call.
- Must have reading speaking writing and understanding skills in the English language.
