Job Description

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Neurodegenerative Diseases Group.


Education and qualifications:

Required:
  • Higher Vocational Training in Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory Techniques
  • Certificate in handling animals for research purposes


Experience and knowledge:
Required:
  • At least 4 years experience working in a research laboratory
  • Experience in animal experimentation: handling behavioural testing and sample processing
  • Experience in cell biology and molecular biology techniques including:
    • Protein analysis methods
    • Maintenance and manipulation of cell cultures
    • Histopathology techniques
    • Immunofluorescence microscopy
    • Purification and processing of biological samples (DNA RNA proteins)
    • PCR quantitative PCR genotyping etc.
  • Good command of spoken and written English
Desired:
  • Relevant training courses related to the job description (biological techniques animal handling quality systems etc.) will be highly valued

Main responsibilities and duties:
  • Provide technical support for mouse-based experimental procedures.
  • Provide technical support for various molecular biology methods.
  • Assist in laboratory organization (e.g. managing orders preparing reagents maintaining stocks).

Labour conditions:

  • Full-time: 40h/week
  • Starting date: immediate
  • Gross annual salary: 21.80000 euros (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
  • Contract:
      • Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
