Full Job Description

The Commissioning Specialist will work primarily in the construction field on Plumbing & HVAC check start and systems throughout Massachusetts. The candidate will be expected to analyze and troubleshoot complex HVAC and Plumbing systems and provide solution-based action. The Commissioning Specialist will also be expected to interface with clients participate in internal quality control and deliver projects on time and within budget. The Commissioning Specialist should be able to adapt quickly to new situations and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Perform construction observations review contract documents develop functional test plans and execute tests for a wide variety of mechanical and controls systems.
  • Verify that system installation and functional performance meet ASHRAE standards State and Local codes industry best practices and contract documents.
  • Complete written commissioning reports and clearly communicate results to clients and stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Represent the company at project-specific commissioning coordination meetings.
  • Compile Operations & Maintenance Manuals customized to each facility.
  • Create training videos and train facility staff.
  • Work with owners third-party commissioning agents to ensure project systems compliance.
  • Assist in the development of commissioning and retro-commissioning check sheets and test protocols.
  • Drive internal efficiency improvement through tools technology and process development.
  • Perform research into innovative technologies and remain up to date on industry trends.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or other relevant field of study.
  • Working knowledge of commercial and industrial Plumbing & HVAC systems.
  • 5-10 years HVAC industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of Life Safety Systems.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information to non-technical client stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with LEED building codes and construction industry standards.
