As a Staff Data Scientist (m/f/d) at Finmatics you will play a leading role in shaping our advanced AI solutions especially those leveraging modern Large Language Models (LLMs). You will lead small teams manage projects end-to-end and work closely with leadership to define the companys data science strategy. This position combines hands-on technical work with strategic thinking and close cross-functional collaboration.

Guide a small high-performing team of data scientists and engineers fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. - Own Projects End-to-End
Drive the design development and deployment of LLM-powered solutionsfrom idea to impactensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals. - Shape Strategy
Collaborate with leadership to define Finmatics data science roadmap and uncover opportunities where data can create real business value. - Build Scalable Systems
Develop robust ML models and data pipelines using modern tools and frameworks ensuring scalability reliability and performance. - Bridge Teams & Insights
Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements translate them into actionable solutions and communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualification:
- Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in Data Science Computer Science Statistics or a related field.
- Proven experience leading teams and delivering complex machine learning projects.
- Deep expertise in modern language models (LLMs) including prompting techniques fine-tuning and related tooling.
- Strong programming skills (e.g. Python R or similar) and solid knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS GCP or Azure).
- Hands-on experience in data engineering data management and building scalable ML systems.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and communicate effectively across teams.
