Job Summary
The Portfolio Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping the companys success by leading strategic development implementation and continuous optimization of the companys investment portfolios. This role ensures the delivery of innovative investment solutions aligned with the companys mission and core values tailored towards the needs and expectations of the Client.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Portfolio Alignment
- Develop implement and monitor a diversified portfolio of funds including dollar funds (euro bond and fixed income) equity-based funds money market funds and segregated goal-based investment funds.
- Translate the company s strategic plans into impactful and actionable plans aligned with the desired business outcome.
Investment Management & Client-Centric Service Delivery
- Collaborate with clients to understand their investment goals risk tolerance/appetite preferences and time horizon and develop tailored portfolio strategies to meet client needs.
- Select and recommend suitable investment products from the company s range of funds considering factors such as asset allocation risk management and return expectations.
Governance Compliance & Risk
- Develop and implement robust risk management frameworks in line with regulatory requirements to safeguard client investments.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements industry standards and our companys policies and procedures.
Market & Industry Insight
- Global and Local Market Acumen: Maintain a comprehensive and current understanding of both global and Nigerian financial markets including key economic indicators regulatory developments and emerging investment trends across various asset classes. This includes staying informed on macroeconomic factors geopolitical events and their potential impact on investment strategies within the Nigerian context.
- Strategic Investment Opportunity Identification through Advanced Analysis: Apply sophisticated financial analytical skills and a strong understanding of buy-side research principles to identify compelling investment opportunities. This involves the rigorous evaluation of financial data the ability to conduct in-depth valuation analysis to pinpoint undervalued assets and the strategic assessment of market conditions to determine optimal entry and exit points for investments within the Nigerian and potentially international markets.
Product Development
- Facilitate the development of financial and investment products
- Lead the company s efforts to innovate and maintain a competitive advantage through strategic product offerings
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Finance Economics or related field
- CFA CIS ICAN ACCA or similar accreditation/certification preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in portfolio management or investment strategy preferably within private banking wealth management or asset management.
- Proven experience designing and managing investment funds and hybrid product offerings.
- Strong understanding of investment products portfolio management strategies risk management techniques strong understanding of high-net-worth client needs and personalised wealth solutions.
- Deep understanding of various asset classes investment strategies and risk management techniques.
- Knowledge of the Nigerian financial market and regulatory environment is highly desirable
- A SEC-sponsored individual is an added advantage.
