Azure Data Engineer
Contract opportunity in the insurance industry for two experienced data engineers. Work on cutting-edge Azure-based data pipelines support analytics modernization and lead agile processes in a hybrid role based in Toronto. Ideal for senior professionals with strong Azure and data engineering expertise.
What is in it for you:
Salaried: $70-75 per hour.
Incorporated Business Rate: $85-90 per hour.
12-month contract.
Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
Weekday schedule from 9 am to 5 pm.
Hybrid work: in-office Tuesday to Thursday.

Responsibilities:
Develop batch and real-time data pipelines DevOps pipelines and end-to-end processes using Microsoft Azure data and analytics PaaS services.
Lead agile software development activities including roadmap planning sprint demos task assignments code reviews and design sign-offs.
Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions collaborating with architects developers and business analysts.
Design and build modern data pipelines data streams and data service APIs to support cloud-based enterprise data modernization.
Develop and maintain data warehouse schematics layouts architectures and both relational and non-relational databases.
Expose data to end-users using platforms such as Power BI Azure API apps or other modern visualization tools.
Mentor team members and facilitate knowledge sharing across departments.
Identify and recommend architectural improvements to enhance platform scalability and robustness.
What you will need to succeed:
Bachelors degree in computer science computer engineering or a related technical field.
8 10 years of experience designing and developing data warehouses and ETL processes.
Hands-on experience with ETL and automation using Azure Data Factory Databricks and PySpark.
Deep expertise in Azure Databricks Azure Data Lake Azure SQL Databases and Azure Data Factory.
Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tools including GitHub Jenkins and Azure DevOps.
Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a collaborative team environment.
