Asphalt Paving

Asphalt Paving Machine Operator to support the operations in the Asphalt division. This position will be responsible for Monitoring directing and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure projects progresses are on schedule and within prescribed budget. Coordinates and collaborates with Project Manager other Superintendents other Project Managers General Contractors and the customer to implement successful project plans. Also scheduling coordinating and supervising the work of all site operatives ensuring that all work is delivered safely on time and within budget along with managing equipment and materials required.

WHAT YOULL ACCOMPLISH

• Operate asphalt paving equipment to spread and level asphalt on a variety of surfaces including roads and parking lots.
  
• Adjust machine settings (such as screed depth and width) to ensure the correct material distribution and smooth finish.
  
• Monitor the paving process to ensure consistent quality and alignment with specifications.
  
• Coordinate with the crew and dump truck drivers to ensure continuous asphalt delivery to the paver.
  
• Maintain proper machine speed material feed and surface smoothness throughout the paving process.
  
• Perform regular equipment inspections preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting to ensure smooth operation.
  
• Ensure the safety of the worksite by following all safety procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma
  
• Field of Study Preferred: N/A
  
• Required Work Experience: 1-2 years miniumun experience operating an asphalt paver (screed and main control functions)
  
• Travel Requirements: Daily travel required
  
• Ability to maintain consistent depth width and surface smoothness
  
• Knowledge of asphalt paving procedures and material behavior
  
• Basic understanding of grades slopes and elevation controls
  
• Must be able to work long hours nights weekends and overtime as needed
  
• Ability to perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment
  
• Must have reliable transportation
  
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat cold etc.)
  
• Must be able to pass a 7-year criminal background check (including felonies and misdemeanors)
  
• Must pass a DOT physical and drug screen
  
• Experience in commercial or municipal paving projects is a plus
  
• Team-oriented with good communication skills to work with crew and supervisors
  
• Pass a 7-year criminal background check including both felonies and misdemeanors as required for employment
