Job Description
Job Title: Skid Steer Operator - Asphalt Milling
Department: Asphalt Milling - Richmond
Reports to: Milling Foreman
Major Role and Purpose:
- Operate a skid steer loader with various attachments used for asphalt milling operations to clean up and prepare surfaces for asphalt paving and other work.
Description of Duties:
- Ensure a safe work environmentin compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
- Properly manipulatehand or foot levers to control movement of milling machine.
- Safely and efficiently operate a skid steer with milling attachments sweeper attachments and other attachments used in milling operations.
- Clean and prepare milled surfaces by removing debris.
- Positions and secures work pieces on machines using holding devices measuring instruments hand tools and hoists.
- Observes milling machine operation and adjusts controls to ensure conformance with specified tolerances.
- Conduct daily maintenance checks greasing equipment and maintainingproper fluid levels.
- Ability to work outside of the machine to assist with various labor needs.
- Overtime work is required.
- Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned by supervisor.
Education:
- High School Diploma / GED
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a skid steer operator including attachments preferred.
Skills Required
- Effective communication and organization skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and the ability to work safety in various conditions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Physical Demands:
- Job requires the following motions: climbing bending squatting pushing pulling vibrating and reaching.
- Requires lifting up to 50lbs.
- Overtime work is required.
- Potential exposure to extremes of hot or cold weather.
