Job Description
Nearmap is looking for an experienced Engineering Lead to shape and deliver the next generation of frontend experiences for our location intelligence platform. Youll lead a team building responsive accessible and high-performance web applications that turn petabytes of aerial imagery and AI-derived data into real-time geospatial insights.
This is a unique opportunity to drive frontend excellence across a platform that pushes the boundaries of whats possible with high-resolution 2D/3D content AI-powered analytics and global scale. Youll play a central role in shaping our new engineering hub in Warsawbringing together best practices in modern frontend architecture reusable component libraries and design system alignment.
As an Engineering Manager youll combine deep technical expertise with strong people leadership. Youll provide direction mentorship and hands-on support to a team of frontend engineers while collaborating closely with product design DevOps and other stakeholders. Youll champion modern development standards improve delivery workflows and ensure high-quality outputs at speed.

Qualifications :
- Proven leadership experience in frontend engineering teams delivering user-focused web applications.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional work with product and design teams
- Deep expertise in React TypeScript HTML/CSS and modern frontend tooling.
- Strong understanding of API integration UI performance optimisation accessibility and responsive design.
- Familiarity with component libraries design systems testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for web apps.
- Exposure to or similar backend frameworks is a plus.
- Empathetic and inclusive leader with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proactive pragmatic and committed to high standards of technical excellence.
- Comfortable working across time zones and distributed teams.
- A bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science Engineering or a related field with a comprehensive understanding of full-stack development principles software architecture and design patterns.
