About the Team

Our Water team in Northern Queensland is growing and were excited to offer a fantastic graduate opportunity for an enthusiastic Water Resources Engineer to join AECOM in our Townsville office.

Youll be part of a highly respected industry-leading team delivering innovative water resources projects across a wide range of sectorsincluding flood risk management nature-based solutions mine water management water quality assessments and major infrastructure development.

As a Graduate Water Resources Engineer you will:

• Work alongside experienced engineers scientists and planners on real-world projects from day one.
• Contribute to a range of projects including flood studies stormwater management mine water assessments and urban water design.
• Support the delivery of water sensitive urban design (WSUD) drainage design and hydraulic modelling for a variety of infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and gain exposure to both local and national initiatives.
• Have the opportunity to get involved in project coordination report writing and client engagement depending on your interests.
• Be supported through structured graduate development including mentoring technical training and assistance in working towards CPEng and RPEQ accreditation.

• Final year students or recent graduates with a degree in Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• A passion for water resources sustainability and solving complex challenges.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with an eagerness to learn and grow.
• You must have completed your studies and have graduated before starting the program.
• You must be able to commence work by February 2026. We are open to mid-year finishers who are able to commence by July 2026.
