Job Description

LEX PRODUCTS
Lex Products designs and manufactures superior electrical power distribution and control systems for the most demanding markets.
-Theatrical & Touring Market
-Studio Film Location Market
-Industrial & Electrical Distributor Market
This critical role is dually focused and responsible to directly generate revenue and long-term strategic growth within the focused strategic geographical market served by Lex (Generator Rental Emergency Response/Storms Electrical Distributors Studio/Film Theatrical and future potential verticals). Each manager while working with the VP of Sales will identify key opportunities for their geographical market segments which include sales training and promotional programs for these customers and for product development roadmap and new product ideas.
Additionally a key focus area is the project management of critical customer orders rallying support and teaming with Operations to ensure timely delivery of product requirements that wows our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Key success factors include:
Development of customer accounts to lead profitable growth in each vertical market sectors; Identification of customer/project opportunities that can lead to sustainable relationships and long-term profit; assist in creating the strategies and execution plans for strategic customers & sales markets which will include filling the customer funnel and generating new product ideas; Identify and/or help research new potential vertical markets.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Revenue and Margin Growth with goals set and measured by vertical market (and key accounts)
  • Customer File Growth and Contact Strategies In Assigned Market
    • Prospecting > Conversion > Retention > Loyalty
  • Size of Opportunity Pipeline & Conversion Rates
  • Effective project management and achievement of customer orders (partnering with Marketing & Ops)
  • Input to Product Development Pipeline leading to successful launches
  • Product Mix Expansion (Customer Share of Wallet Maximized) across strategic accounts
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Strategic business development and account management
  • Identify top-down (i.e. national or corp accounts) and bottom up (i.e. branch or locations) approaches to generate account growth
  • Develop Strategies and Sales Plans to support strategic accounts or to help cultivate relationships
    • Create strategic account plans and manage the execution
  • Identify and communicate to sales management new product opportunities driven by customer requirements and market needs assessment
  • Develop and manage sales presentations to critical strategic accounts (i.e. Engineers theatrical consultants key accounts within verticals) with the support of Marketing
Knowledge Skills Abilities and Requirements:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required but do not constitute the complete list of everything that may help one be successful in this role.
  • Experience working for a company selling design-to-order electrical products is preferred.
  • Experience in Entertainment or Industrial applications is preferred.
  • Experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) ex. SAP Oracle Microsoft NAV Made2Manage.
  • BS/BA preferred. HS Diploma/ GED Required.
  • Ability to fill the role of consultative salesperson and become a trusted advisor to Lexs customers.
  • Must be willing to make initial contact with a prospect.
  • Must be highly accountable to commitments made to internal and external customers.
  • Strong oral and written communication; good spelling grammar and attention to accuracy
  • High level of professionalism and a consistent reliable work ethic
  • Exceptional computer skills including: Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook Internet.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform well under pressure.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work within a team and independently
  • Sense of urgency and ability to meet tight deadlines on a daily basis
  • An attention to detail and a drive to reach/exceed sales goal targets
  • Strong problem solving skills and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to extend a professional image through a high level of personal integrity and a strong work ethic
  • Empathetic interpersonal interaction
  • Problem solving/analytical and basic math skills
