Storeroom Clerk
The incumbent in the position will be responsible for a variety of duties in the Plant Stores Warehouse and carrying out the duties in a safe manner. Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, daily activities will include the following:
- Inspect and manage all incoming deliveries as appropriate. This includes receiving shipments and/or rejecting shipments as required.
- Maintain accurate daily records of goods/shipments received and goods checked out on off-shifts, utilizing internal completed check-out sheets and shipment receiving verifications. Maintain goods receipts in GEP as necessary.
- Receive orders in SAP to enable the accounts payable process, moving items to assigned locations and/or distributing special orders to appropriate departments.
- Conduct frequent spot and partial audits of internal components available through check-out process.
- Operate forklift truck in the warehouse and outside at the loading dock, when necessary.
- Monitor the minimum and/or maximum (min/max) levels of inventoried items based on usage or lead time parameters. Report discrepancies for further consideration.
- Assist as needed to troubleshoot SAP issues related to invoicing, accounts payable, etc.
- Arrange transportation for outgoing shipments and track incoming and outgoing shipments as needed, including items for return to vendor, repairs and other plant requests.
- Work closely with vendors to resolve discrepancies in deliveries.
- Assist other plant personnel with locating inventoried components or items delivered as part of a work order.
- Fill in for Sr. Inventory Controls Specialist in his/her absence.
- Performing miscellaneous activities related to the ongoing management of the Stores Warehouse, including cleaning, shelf organizing, updating bin locations, etc., as well as supporting all requirements related to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Perform other related duties as instructed by the Sr. Inventory Control Specialist.
Qualifications:
- Required qualifications include: a high school diploma or equivalent with preference being given for an Associate’s degree in a relevant field, i.e. accounting, business, etc.. The candidate must have strong organizational and time management skills, along with computer literacy gained through 2-3 years working familiarity with Microsoft Office. Experience with inventory software is a plus. One to three years of industrial warehouse and/or inventory knowledge is necessary. Regularly required to sit or stand and move about the facility. Functional experience with SAP is highly desirable.
