Job Description
In this fixed-term role (to cover the busy winter season) based in Christchurch you will assess repair modify test and certify industrial valves in accordance with SGS-IVE Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carry out valve refurbishments overhauls and repairs on various types of valves (including ball gate butterfly and safety relief valves) in line with QMS and customer requirements.
- Perform valve examinations maintenance and repairs within agreed timeframes including disassembly cleaning inspection measuring reassembly and testing.
- Follow all schematics and documented procedures in accordance with Quality Control and ASME National Board standards.
- Complete all calibration and documentation associated with testing and repairs thoroughly and accurately.
Qualifications :
- Keen interest in engineering with a minimum of 3 years industry experience
- Minimum two years valve specific experience
- Must have a qualified trade in mechanical engineering or fitter or turner
- Must have thorough understanding of API526/527 and other applicable industry standards
- Must have knowledge of Valve maintenance including Block Ball Gate Control and Relief valves to a high standard
- Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools required for the repair of valves
- Mechanical knowledge of how to clean and maintain machinery used to overhaul and service valves and parts
- Full knowledge and understanding of measurements in relation to orifices
- Experience in a Petro chemical industry (Ideally 5 years experience)
- Full knowledge of gasket assembly bolting and compression
- A current clean drivers license
