We are YSS!
Are you a quick thinker with a calm presence and a heart for helping others YSS is looking for a compassionate motivated and team-oriented Emergency Services Specialist to join our North Iowa team. In this role youll help create a safe structured and positive environment for youth by leading daily activities that build life skills foster personal growth and support emotional wellness.
As part of a supportive team youll play a key role in maintaining safety structure and connection throughout each day. Shifts will typically be 7:00 am-3:00 pm with one 3:00 pm-11:00 pm shift per week plus every other weekend and holidays on responsibilities will include:
- Supervising clients to ensure their safety accountability and wellbeing.
- Modeling respectful behavior healthy boundaries and positive social skills.
- Managing group dynamics with empathy and confidence.
- Leading group sessions that teach essential life and social skills adapted for age and development.
- Responding to crises with a calm supportive approach
- Documenting client behavior and daily notes clearly and accurately.

MUST HAVES - Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Services or a related field *.
- Proficient with data entry and the use of Microsoft products including Word Outlook etc.
- Travel including transporting clients is required for this position. For YSS insurance purposes you must:
- be 21 years of age
- have a valid state-issued drivers license
- have a clean driving record and
- have adequate insurance coverage per YSS policy.
SHOULD HAVES - Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience in the management and supervision of adolescents in a residential setting.
- Ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally with excellent observational listening speaking and writing skills.
- Ability to collaborate and able to work effectively with others regardless of backgrounds identities and status.
- Ability to use critical thinking skills to problems solve.
- Ability to manage resources effectively.
- Ability to manage ones own time and the time of others.
