Hours of work include Monday Thursday 8:20 a.m. 3:20 p.m. and Friday 8:20 a.m. 12:15 p.m.

Central Elementary School is an Early Learning to grade five elementary school that supports a diverse community of learners in the heart of Taber Alberta. We have a population of approximately 220 students and a staff of 25.

Taber Central School is seeking a probationary Educational Assistant commencing the 2025-2026 school year. The range of students is from Early Learning programming through to grade 5. Experience working with students of various ages and needs is pertinent. Training with communication English as an additional language and supporting students with complex needs would be considered an asset. An understanding of inclusion and supports for diverse learners would be seen as a strength. This position will require the candidate to work closely with students who have complex needs such as autism physical adaptations and speech and/or language delays.

• Ensures the safety of students in the school and community which includes maintaining close supervision of students ensuring studentequipment is sanitized and put away retrieving students who attemptto leave their learningenvironment calming and/or restraining students engaged in challenging behaviours; supervising and assisting studentswho utilize a variety of life skill tools (i.e. scissors cooking utensils etc.).
• Maintains collegial relationships with the students learning team.
