Job Description
This is a hybrid role working 20-30/hrs. per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive external affairs strategy that supports business objectives and elevates brand reputation across the industry.
Serve as a thought leader and representative in meetings with elected officials regulators industry groups and community stakeholders.
Foster and maintain strategic relationships with policymakers industry associations community organizations and third-party advocacy groups.
Oversee and coordinate activities of local and state-level lobbyists.
Monitor legislative regulatory and policy developments at the state and local levels; provide guidance and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Enhance the organizations public profile through proactive community engagement partnerships and targeted media opportunities.
Collaborate closely with internal teams including Legal Public Policy and Communications to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and strategy.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Public Policy Communications Political Science Business or a related field.
8 years of experience in external affairs government relations or public policy roles.
Proven ability to engage effectively with policymakers regulators and community leaders.
Telecommunications or closely related industry experience strongly preferred.
In-depth understanding of local and state regulatory environments.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Leadership experience particularly in managing geographically dispersed teams or external consultants.
