Job Description

Position: Night Lead Custodian

Location: Discovery Middle School

Position Type: Full-Time

Bargaining Unit: International Union of Operating Engineers Local #70 - Custodial Maintenance

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Overview:

Performs intermediate semiskilled work maintaining an attractive sanitary and safe facility for students staff and members of the public; performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Head Custodian.

Essential Functions:

Cleans scrubs strips waxes buffs and sweeps floors; vacuums carpets; responds to emergency clean-ups; replaces lights and ballasts; performs minor plumbing repairs.

Maintains and performs minor equipment repairs; assists with major equipment repairs.

Maintains security locks and unlocks doors with keys and computer operated systems; monitors building automation and H-Vac systems; monitors boiler operations and boiler log.

Restocks cleaning supplies; loads and unloads trucks at receiving dock.

Sets-up buildings and grounds for activities to including sporting events; assists students faculty coaches and members of the public as required.

Performs ground maintenance trash snow and ice removal; applies salt/grit mixture to sidewalks and entries.

Cleans entire school during summer months.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED and minimal experience in a custodial or mechanical environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation:$22.03 per hour ($23.28 after July 1) depending on qualifications and experience.
