We are committed to ensuring that our students who have for too long been under-served are provided with a high-quality free public education at their local district High School is seeking exceptional teachers to join our team who possess a growth mindset value collaboration and continuous feedback are passionate about their content and have an unwavering belief that all students are capable of meeting rigorous academic Duties and Responsibilities:- Teach 5 sections of rigorously planned high school History/Social Studies- Work collaboratively to align curriculum to the rigor of the MA Curriculum Frameworks- Implement common assessments that measure progress towards academic standards- Use data from formative and summative assessments to inform instruction- Meet weekly with a grade-level content team and an interdisciplinary team.- Collaborate with Special Education and ESL teachers to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students- Participate in biweekly instructional coaching sessions to improve instructional practices.- Communicate weekly with students and families around academic and behavioral Skills and Characteristics of a LHS teacher:- Commitment to the academic and personal success of Lawrence Public Schools students and families- Proven experience supporting English Language Learners- Ability to take initiative and succeed in a fast-paced school environment while remaining calm and focused when faced with unexpected challenges- Demonstrated capacity to create and maintain a positive learning environment in which students diverse backgrounds identities strengths and challenges are respected and utilized.- Will to improve practice by taking and implementing frequent feedback- Humility and a good sense of humor
