Residential Medication Technician

(Opportunities across our various residential program; Bridge Gordon Green Morrison Place Ray House Ocean Street)

Pay rate: $23.00/hour
*Additional overnight shift differential of $4/hour between 10p 8a

If you are looking for meaningful work and a wonderful team environment look no further! The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a Residential Medication Technician to join our adult residential program(s).


The Residential Medication Technician (Med Tech) is a technical position overseeing the administration of medications for residents of the program. This position contributes to the accomplishment of the Agency mission through the provision of direct service. This position manages all aspects of the medication administration program within the program. Implement all medication rules and regulations. Provide oversight on all documentation required within the medication program and maintain the medication room to meet standards.

This position attends weekly program staff meetings and participates in other meetings as necessary. Work is performed reviewed and evaluated under the supervision of the Program Director.

Schedule: Full-time 40 hours per week
Various schedules available depending on the program. Details will be discussed during interview.

Location: on-site at one of our residential programs located in Portland or South Portland ME

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred or equivalent training with at least 2 years of experience in mental health required.
  • Must become certified as Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment; then maintain required trainings to uphold continuous MHRT1 status.
  • Must be able to able to successfully pass a criminal background child protective service check & sex offender check.
  • Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
  • Must pass CNA registry check
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and TB screen.
  • Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing walking reaching stooping bending kneeling crouching typing and frequently lift and carry small children or material weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Normal office conditions such as sitting with occasional standing walking reaching stooping bending kneeling crouching typing and lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings and for the occasional need to meet with clients offsite and within the program service area. This may include transportation of clients or driving to agency location to complete work. A good driving record is required.
