We have an opportunity for a Medical Records Officer to join their team of staff in our Medical Records department.
This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include:
- Perform core filing clerk responsibilities to ensure medical records are maintained in an orderly and accessible manner.
- Prepare patient records for upcoming clinics admissions investigations and procedures.
- Ensure all required documentation (e.g. consent forms test results referral letters) is accurately filed and accessible for clinical teams.
- Locate and retrieve patient notes efficiently when requested by clinical admin or legal teams.
- Handle patient information with the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion.
- Comply with GDPR Caldicott principles and local information governance policies.
- Use electronic systems (e.g. hospital PAS EMR or EPR platforms) to log update and search patient data accurately.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Previous administrative experience ideally in a healthcare or records-focused role.
- Good understanding of confidentiality GDPR and information governance.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
- Comfortable working with IT systems and databases.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional and respectful manner.
