Course: EAST 353 Approaches to Chinese Cinema (3 credits)

Course Details: Development of Chinese film in the 20th century with an emphasis on both critical approaches to film as well as film history.
Salary (current rate for 3-credit course teaching): $11090
Salary (rate for 3-credit course teaching as of September 1st 2025): $11479
Position Summary:
A Course Lecturer assignment includes all or part of the following teaching activities:
a) preparation of the Course and Course plan;
b) delivery of the Course;
c) evaluation of students;
d) submitting to the University a report on student attendance and student grades;
e) supervision of Teaching Assistants or any other teaching support staff;
f) upon request review of their students grades;
g) meeting with students being available to answer questions and give advice concerning Course content and requirements;
Employees shall perform their duties in compliance with the Pedagogical Regulation and as specified in the administrative directives of the Hiring Unit. An Employee shall use appropriate pedagogical methods and material.
Teaching Qualification Requirements: All But Dissertation (ABD) or equivalent in Asian Studies. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Chinese Studies with training in the field of Film and Media Studies.
Experience: Applicants should have substantial experience teaching as an instructor at the university level.
