Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters degree required; SC certification required

Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of instructional delivery

Assist with developing communicating and coordinating district activities geared towards teaching and learning

Assist in the development of assessment strategies for all programs

Assist in the development and field-testing of end-of-course tests

Develop and implement recommendations for professional development

Coordinate textbook and materials adoptions

Serve as liaison with community agencies participating in foreign language development

Serve as content integration and personalized learning liaison to all schools in Rock Hill School District

Outstanding references from current and former supervisors

Satisfactory SLED (SC Law Enforcement Division) report

Salary Range: Administrative

Length of Contract: 12 months

Starting Date: 2025-2026 School Year

JOB DESCRIPTION

INSTRUCTIONAL INTEGRATION SPECIALIST

Purpose Statement:

The job of Instructional Integration Specialist is done for the purpose/s of developing student success in the assigned academics (e.g. reading writing language math social studies science) or skills by developing and/or enhancing district approved curriculum and teacher delivery; coordinating staff development activities; providing information on teacher effectiveness and progress; and serving as a resource to school personnel requiring assistance with curriculum technology and/or lesson models.

This job reports to the Executive Director of Professional Learning.

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Essential Functions

  • Uphold the values and mission of Rock Hill School District while making professional contributions.
  • Serve as content integration and personalized learning liaison to all schools in Rock Hill School District.
  • Assist with developing communicating and coordinating district activities geared towards teaching and learning.
  • Serve in a collaborating role with organizations such as the SCDE Office of Personalized Learning.
  • Function as a member of the Instructional Department Team.
  • Assesses effectiveness of teachers classroom techniques and (on occasion) students academic learning and/or skills for the purpose of implementing remedial activities and/or providing feedback to students parents and administration as appropriate.
  • Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of instructional delivery.
  • Collaborates with school personnel community agencies other Instructional Specialists etc. for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes by developing solutions and planning curriculum.
  • Demonstrates methods required to perform assignments (e.g. model lessons best practices etc.) for the purpose of providing an effective school program and addressing the needs of individual teachers.
  • Manages programs program development and/or grants for the purpose of ensuring success and meeting district goals.
  • Participates in meetings workshops and seminars (e.g. staff meetings in-services etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
  • Prepares training materials curriculum documents and periodic/special reports for the purpose of enhancing teacher success by providing supporting materials and meeting community district state or federal requirements.
  • Supports classroom teachers and other school personnel for the purpose of assisting them in the implementation of curriculum learning pathways and teaching methodologies.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities assigned.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications

Skills Knowledge and Abilities

SKILLS are required to perform multiple technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: applying assessment instruments; operating standard office equipment; planning and managing projects; preparing and maintaining accurate records; and using pertinent software applications.

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform read technical information compose a variety of documents and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: arts education and programming; current generation teaching methodologies; content standards; state and federal laws relating to curriculum.

ABILITY is required to schedule activities and/or meetings; gather collate and/or classify data; and use basic job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize specific job-related equipment. In working with others problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited. Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with diverse groups; setting priorities; and working as part of a team with detailed information/data; and with frequent interruptions.

Responsibility

Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading guiding and/or coordinating others; and monitoring budget expenditures. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the jobs functions. There is some opportunity to affect the organizations services.

Working Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling; some stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 40% sitting 30% walking and 30% standing. The job is performed in varying atmospheric conditions.

Experience

Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired. Experience teaching an arts content area is required.

Education

Masters degree in a job related area in association with the job description of the position.
