Job Description
Job Summary:
The RN Unit Manager at Mountain Ridge Health & Rehab is a full-time hourly healthcare/medical position located in Black Mountain North Carolina. This role is responsible for managing and overseeing the nursing unit ensuring high-quality patient care and providing leadership and mentoring to the nursing staff. The ideal candidate will have prior management experience strong clinical knowledge and excellent communication and organizational skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
The RN Unit Manager position at Mountain Ridge Health & Rehab offers a competitive hourly salary of $36 to $43 per hour paid semi-monthly. In addition to the base salary this position also offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance retirement plans paid time off and educational assistance.
Responsibilities:
- Must possess the ability to work independently must possess the skills and abilities to function in the capacity of a nurse or nurse aide when needed.
- Oversee and manage the nursing unit to ensure efficient operation and delivery of high-quality patient care
- Develop and implement appropriate staffing schedules taking into consideration patient needs and budget constraints
- Provide leadership mentorship and support to the nursing staff including conducting performance evaluations and providing ongoing training and development opportunities
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations as well as facility policies and procedures
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care
- Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve patient care and staff performance
- Act as a liaison between the nursing staff patients families and physicians to address any concerns or issues
- Participate in the budgeting process and manage the units expenses within budget constraints
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
Requirements:
- Active RN license in the state of North Carolina
- Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role
- Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of nursing best practices
- Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and staff members
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to nursing homes and long-term care facilities
- Computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records systems
