Position at Danbury Hospital
Title: Echocardiography Technologist - Danbury Hospital Echo DHMAC - Danbury CT - Full time 8 hour shifts 8:00am - 4:30pm. Monday - Friday w/some weekends & call.
Summary: To provide the highest quality most efficient echocardiography exams and services to the greater Danbury area. Perform echocardiographic exams to expedite efficient and accurate patient care.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform all echocardiographic procedures on all age groups in a professional manner and acquiring the highest quality studies possible.
2. Prepare educate and assist patients their families & their physicians in the mechanisms of echocardiographic procedures & the purpose of these procedures.
3. Effectively understand & demonstrate the proper use of all echocardiographic equipment. Demonstrate the ability to vary the use of the echocardiographic equipment methods & calculations for each individual of all age groups.
4. Accurately complete all paperwork videotape and computer input data associated with procedures in an efficient & timely manner.
5. Safely & effectively organizes work area & supplies. Schedule patients in an efficient manner utilizing the proper communication methods to work with other areas of the health system. Demonstrating an awareness of efficient & cost effective workflow.
6. Work as an effective team member within the Echo lab the Non-Invasive Cardiology lab the Cardiology section the hospital and the health system for all required shifts.
7. Participate in laboratory procedural decision-making process. Suggest possible procedural and policy changes to add to the cost effective efficient workflow while maintaining high quality work.
8. Participate in educational and quality control meetings within the lab as well as at the local state & national level. Maintain adequate continuing medical education units to stay current in the field.
9. Provide quality control of patient data by correlating data on all patients with echocardiographic exams and other cardiac procedures & interventions including statistical analysis.
10. Assist Health System staff members in data collection which involve Echocardiographic data.
11. Act as a liaison to other institutions in their research efforts related to Echocardiographic data.
12. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Information:
Required:Associate Degree and minimum of one year job-related experience. Ultrasound registry eligible; RDCS eligible. Graduate certificate of Ultrasound program. Cardiac Ultrasound registered by CCI or ARDMS within 1 year of hire. Minimum Experience: one year
Desired: Attend an accredited Echocardiography school. Work in a high volume Echocardiography lab.
Salary Range: $32.23 - $59.86 hourly - Union (Pay per contractual union pay grid)
