Job Description

Position Title: Lecturer (Radiologic Technology)

Department: Allied Health

Campus Location:Washburn University

Position Summary: Washburn Universitys Allied Health Department invites applications for the position of Radiologic Technology Lecturer to begin August 1 2025. This is a 12-month full-time non-tenure track appointment as a Lecturer. This position requires budgetary approval. The Allied Health Department offers nationally accredited programs and offerings at multiple levels including associate baccalaureate and masters degrees.

Essential Functions:
Fulfill teaching expectations associated with non-tenure-track appointment. Teach 12 hours per fall and spring semester and 6 hours per summer semester (either in-person hybrid or online according to department needs) or equivalent full workload as outlined in the faculty handbook.
Develop curriculum according to department goals and outcomes as assigned and as dependent upon department needs.
Maintain current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development.
Fulfill service expectations associated with a non-tenure-track appointment by engaging in service activities in the department school/university profession and community.
Maintain ARRT registration and State of Kansas radiologic technologist license.
Advise students and maintain on-campus office hours in accordance with SAS and university policy; Also attend program department school and university meetings.
Support the radiology program director to assure effective program operations.
Participate in program and university accreditation and assessment processes.
Maintain and effectively communicate up-to-date information on student progress in both didactic and clinical settings.
Develop and maintain knowledge of program policies and procedures.
Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelors degree in a relevant field from an academic institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).
Minimum of two years clinical experience as a registered Radiologic Technologist.
Must hold and maintain a valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration.
o This position does not require a Kansas Radiologic Technologist license at the time of application; however faculty are expected to obtain and maintain an active Kansas license as a condition of employment.
Minimum of one year experience as a faculty member (full-time part-time or adjunct) or clinical preceptor of a JRCERT-accredited radiologic technology program.
Demonstrated dedication to developing inclusive teaching practices that engage all learners.
Official educational transcripts are required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in a relevant field
Experience in curriculum development and/or instructional design
Experience with program-level assessment
Experience with academic advising
Experience with a learning management system (D2L Canvas Blackboard).
