In this role you will have the opportunity to have high impact on content programs across Amazon. Given the nascency of the program the ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and invention working backwards from the customer and tackling complex ambiguous problems. The product is in its early stages but draws on a rich history of risk management products in the Books Org. It leverages a wide set of technology from distributed computing to machine learning to front-end web frameworks. You will experiment with the application of LLMs for making risk-based decisions often establishing new patterns along the way.
You will build systems that are scalable extensible and flexible maximizing customer impact while minimizing engineering overhead and operational load. You will run a high-performance team while maintaining a strong inclusive team culture with excellent work life balance. You will influence and drive adoption across many businesses across Amazon. You will use your planning and risk management skills high judgement strong ownership and drive and wear different hats as needed to deliver results.
- 3 years of engineering team management experience - 7 years of working directly within engineering teams experience - 3 years of designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience in many disparate technologies typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between - Experience managing a team of high calibre Software Engineers developing complex world class scalable software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers - Experience building and running high scale multitenant systems that solve business problems is a strong plus.
