Primary Purpose:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual emotional physical and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Education/Certification
- Bachelors Degree
- Must possess Texas Special Education Certification (or from a state with reciprocity)

Preferred Experience:
- Two years teaching experience as a Special Educator
- Bilingual with strong commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations
- Adaptive mindset
- Experience in working with scholars with autism
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of federal and state special education law
- Knowledge of federal and special program rules and regulations
- Ability to implement instructional programs as set by the district
- Ability to implement policy and procedures as set by the district
- Ability to interpret data as directed by the district
- Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills and public relation skills
Equipment Used:
- Computer copier and audiovisual equipment
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
- Maintains emotional control under stress. Frequent standing stooping bending keeling pushing and pulling. Moves small stacks of textbooks media equipment desks and other classroom or adaptive equipment.
