Job Duties
The Public Health Outreach Worker plays a key role in delivering community-based services through a mobile clinic. Responsibilities include driving the mobile unit assisting with the setup and breakdown of clinic equipment and providing Narcan (naloxone) training to community members as part of broader harm reduction efforts. The worker will also support case navigation by helping individuals access essential services such as healthcare housing and social support. This position requires a strong commitment to outreach and public health with an expectation to work on the mobile unit 45 days per week. Flexibility is essential as the role involves non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends to effectively serve diverse community populations.
The PH Outreach Worker facilitates service delivery to clients in a health district or other direct service work unit. Duties typically associated with overall service delivery are well defined to include securing patient history providing basic health education explaining various routine assessments diagnostic and treatment processes as well as identifying other social or financial service providers to contact for assistance. May provide language interpretation to staff and clients. May provide transportation for clients or complete general administrative tasks such as keyboarding filing and reception.
**This is a restricted position which is solely funded by the Opioid Abatement Authority grant for a 12 month period. The availability of funding is scheduled for review before the grant expiration date and periodically thereafter. Continued employment is contingent on the continued availability of funds.**

Minimum Qualifications
Technical Support Skills: Ability to follow protocols and instructions from licensed providers to provide technical support to medical and nursing staff.
Administrative Skills: Proficiency in administrative tasks such as answering phones scheduling appointments filing records and providing general office coverage.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively including assisting clients with completing paperwork.
Organization and Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accurate patient records files and logs and to prepare client education materials and packets.
Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to interact with clients provide support and address inquiries professionally and courteously.
Additional Considerations
Familiarity with basic clinical tasks such as taking patient measurements (temperature pulse blood pressure height weight)
