Migrant Summer School K-5 Dual Language Teacher Grant Funded Temporary 2025

Description:Provide classroom targeted instruction for migrant and Title IA and LEP students in language arts math and/or science; manage educational assistants and student interns; maintain classroom discipline; conduct standardized pre and post testing; align curriculum with grade level standards; analyze student performance test results and create curriculum and use online programs to help students reach grade standards; implement GLAD and/or ELD strategies with support from colleagues and director work in PLCs; prepare student presentation for closing ceremony; and communicate with parents as needed.

Requirements:Current Oregon teaching license valid for 6-8^th grades; English Math Science or Reading endorsement; successful experience teaching migrant Title IA and Title III students; ability to design or adopt curriculum and assessment tools for use with LEP and migrant students; demonstrated ability in classroom organization and behavior management; and understanding of social and cultural issues affecting migrant students and their families. Commitment to attend all staff in-service meetings and ability to communicate with students and families. Compliance with OHA vaccination mandate upon hire.

Qualifications Desired:Preference given to bilingual candidates. ESOL endorsement technology skills and GLAD and/or other sheltered instruction training.

Classification/Location:Licensed temporary summer position at Edwards Elementary School.

Hours/Days:7.25 hours/day (8:00am 3:00pm with hour break) for 16 days;Monday Thursday July 7 2023 through August 1 2023 2 days additional time for training. (Actual working hours may vary final schedule TBD at a later date).EMPLOYMENT CONTINGENT ON ENROLLMENT AND GRANT FUNDING

Salary:

Per diem paid by timesheet in accordance with 2024-25 Salary Schedule. Newberg School Districtpays 6% PERScontribution provides a generous insurance cap long-term disability and life insurance.
