Job Description
Research Assistant I/II
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute projects conducts tests and experiments following standard or modified protocols
- Identify and document variations that may affect the validity of the experiment.
- Data collection and analysis perform quality control monitor data for accuracy summarize and interpret results with consultation of supervisor.
- Upload data to database system within agreed upon timelines with supervisor.
- Ensure functionality and maintenance of instrumentation.
- Assist in preparing data for progress reports manuscripts and grant applications.
- Mouse colony maintenance molecular biology microscopy immunofluorescence immunohistochemistry and cell culture techniques.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in biological sciences or related discipline OR 1-3 years of related experience.
- Mouse handling and husbandry skills preferred.
- Demonstrate an effective experimental approach with attention to detail and ability to generate accurate reproducible results.
- Fundamental computer skills including Excel and Word familiarity with genome browsers a plus.
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate information verbally and in written form.
- Ability to positively engage with all individuals in a productive collaborative and professional manner to enhance the outcome of the goals of the research program.
- Established understanding of good safety practices and a demonstrated history of safe conduct.
- Organized self-motivated and focused with proven ability to manage time effectively and work under time constraints meet deadlines and prioritize work.
- Ability to work flexible shifts (evening/week-end/holiday).
Par Range: $19.93- $27.40 per hour depending upon experience
